Working closely with our client, our Planning Consultant Paul Atton first secured a Class R change of use for five general-purpose agricultural buildings, allowing them to be repurposed for light industrial and storage use. This was the crucial first step in creating new opportunities for the site.
Once planning permission was achieved, Hugo Richardson and Edward Broad visited the farm to gather the details needed to bring the properties to market.
The units were officially launched on 27th November 2024.
We were delighted to see strong levels of interest right from the start, with enquiries coming in from a wide variety of businesses.
By 10th April 2025, all five units were successfully let, achieving strong market rents in line with expectations.
Just as importantly, the new tenants were an ideal fit for the client, with most of the units now occupied by storage-based businesses.
Even now, we continue to receive calls about availability at Mentley Farm, highlighting the increasing demand for flexible rural business space.
