This month marks a significant milestone for Weldon Beesly as we celebrate Charlie Balaam’s 10-year anniversary with the firm.
Charlie grew up on her parent’s arable farm just outside Cambridge before going to Durham University and then on to a Masters at the Royal Agricultural College. Continuing a family tradition, she now lives with her family on a large arable farm near Saffron Walden.
Charlie and Hugo first worked together at Savills, where she began her professional career in 2000 and qualified in 2002. The pair’s paths crossed most closely during their time in the Bishop’s Stortford office (now closed) between 2007 and 2011, before Hugo left Savills to establish Weldon Beesly.
After nearly a year of determined persuasion, Charlie agreed to join Weldon Beesly in January 2015, coming on board as a Director. Her arrival marked a significant milestone in the firm’s development. Over the following two years, the business restructured into a limited liability partnership, with Charlie and Hugo becoming founding partners of the LLP.
Since then, Charlie has played a central role in the firm, working closely with our key estate management clients and providing a comprehensive range of rural property and estate management services. Her expertise, professionalism, and commitment have been instrumental in supporting both our clients and the continued growth of the business.
The partnership was further strengthened in July 2018 with the addition of Tim Starkey, and together the partnership continues to build on the strong foundations established during those early years.
We are delighted to be marking this milestone and look forward to many more years of working together.
