PLANNING CONSULTANT

We are looking to appoint a qualified planner, either MRTPI or MRICS (P&D), at Senior, Principle or Associate Level.

As a small business there will be the opportunity to work on a diverse range of client projects and be able to shape your work to the areas that interest you. Work will be both rural and urban based and will include:

  • Rural business and diversification – commercial development, leisure, tourism, farm shops and food drink businesses.
  • Agriculture – new agricultural and equestrian developments, farm buildings, stables, farm roads.
  • Residential – new build residential schemes: Class Q and Class RD GPDO, barn conversions, certificates or lawfulness and enforcement.
  • Listed building and conservation area projects.

You will need to:

  • Be RTPI or MRICS (P&D) qualified.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years planning experience either within the public or private sector.
  • Understand the planning system and be able to offer strategic and tactical advice.
  • Be confident in delivering advice to clients in both a rural and urban context.
  • Target opportunities for the new business.
  • Be an active member of the team, taking responsibility for the efficient delivery of planning advice within the business.
  • Full clean driving licence.

CHARTERED SURVEYOR (RURAL)

We are looking for a Chartered Surveyor to help service our existing clients and to develop and grow the business on a full time or flexible basis.

The role is flexible to your experience and interests but would involve a wide variety of rural work and could include:

  • Professional instructions for a range of clients including private and corporate owners; and rural businesses, with various property holdings including estates; let and in hand farms; dwellings; commercial premises.
  • RICS Red Book valuations for tax and accounts purposes.
  • Advice on diversification opportunities for rural property owners and advice on how to exploit opportunities.
  • Sale of rural property for new and retained clients.

You will need to:

  • Be RICS qualified.
  • Manage a varied and busy workload whilst managing clients’ expectations.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and ensure professional instructions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Recognise new opportunities and help to develop the wider services of the firm.
  • Preferably be a RICS Registered Valuer, but not essential.
  • Self-starter, with a can-do approach and good initiative.
  • Full clean driving licence.
